Synopsis

This course aims to introduce the students to the concept of linear regression and demonstrate methods of conducting multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS. Hands-on learning activities are used to ensure the sustainability of learning among students.

Objective

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Understand the Fundamentals of Multiple Linear Regression:

    • Define multiple linear regression and understand its key concepts.
    • Differentiate between simple and multiple linear regression models.
  2. Perform Multiple Linear Regression Analysis Using SPSS:
    • Conduct multiple linear regression analyses in SPSS with ease.
    • Set up regression models and select the appropriate independent variables for analysis.
  3. Interpret and Evaluate Regression Results:

    • Interpret SPSS output, including regression coefficients, R-squared values, and p-values.
    • Evaluate model assumptions and identify potential issues such as multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity.
  4. Assess Model Fit and Significance:

    • Assess the overall fit of a regression model using statistical tests and diagnostic plots.
    • Determine the statistical significance of predictors and the quality of the model.
  5. Communicate Findings Effectively:

    • Present and communicate regression results clearly, including the practical implications of the analysis.
    • Use visual aids (graphs, tables) to support findings and conclusions.

Learning Outcome

At the end of the course student will be able to:
1. Explain the concept of multivariable analysis and linear regression
2. Demonstrating digital skills in simple and multiple linear regression data analysis and scientific presentation
